Ottan is a design studio, innovation center, recycling and production workshop which is a unity of people from various disciplines who dreams, researches, and builds.

We are working for designing and producing colorful, pleasant and sustainable furniture, objects, lighting, and decorative/structural panels without cutting a single tree.

All of the products that we produce are made of “OTTAN” materials (colorful composite materials which look like marble from at least 50% of plants/fruits/vegetables/nuts waste).

All of the materials and products are designed to be suitable for industrial production, however, they are entirely handmade from start to finish right now. Our aim is to create a social impact on the zero-waste issue and also a sectoral awareness about the ability to create sustainable products from such wastes, moreover reintroducing that natural treasure to the economy by reaching our mission and products to a great number of people all around the world.

Ottan Studio is a one-woman design studio, a recycling and production workshop, as well as a small innovation center. Working for designing and producing colorful, pleasant and sustainable furniture, objects and lighting without cutting a single tree.

All of the products that she produces are made of “ottan” materials (colorful composite materials with at least 50% of herbal waste which looks like marble or fruit leather). All of the materials and products are designed to be suitable for industrial production, however they are entirely handmade from start to finish right now. Ottan is experimenting, researching and building.

Among the wastes she has transformed are 45 varieties of plant and food leftovers, such as orange peels, artichoke leaves, expired lentils, mown grass, sunflower shells, autumn foliage and tomato pulp. She has produced more than 100 different samples by preserving the materials’ natural colors and textures.

The products designed until now include lightings, coffee tables, trays and coasters and boxes and chairs.
